“Our philosophy at Dane’s Body Shop is finding strength through fitness and community, and one way we do that is by donating our time and resources towards a cause we care about and can stand behind,” says Dane Krager, owner and coach of Dane’s Body Shop. “This partnership with Explore Austin marks an important milestone for us as we look to expand our charitable offerings south of the river, as well as continuing to help grow our fitness community along the way.”
Established in 2006, Explore Austin gives local youth the tools they need to thrive. They combine the benefits of mentorship and outdoor adventure in a six-year program for 6th through 12th graders in underserved communities. In 2013 alone, Explore Austin’s 65 mentors provided over 36,000 hours of mentoring for their 180 Explorers; hiked, biked or paddled over 6,500 miles; and graduated their second six-year class of 15 Explorers — all of whom were accepted into a four-year college! All donation proceeds of F’nGive will go directly to Explore Austin.
Dane’s Body Shop is a locally-owned, mission-driven fitness studio located in the Hyde Park neighborhood. Founded in 2010 by Dane Krager, the Shop (as members affectionately call it) has made waves in the local fitness community. Members and coaches regularly place in top 15 of the AFM’s FITTEST competition, and membership to the gym is growing fast. The Shop regularly participates in local youth outreach, most recently having worked with Austin Children’s Shelter.
F’nGo is a focused, fast-paced fitness program crafted for all fitness levels, from beginner to elite, in a 45-minute burst of strength, endurance, conditioning and energy. Established in July 2013, F’nGive will double as a one year anniversary celebration for F’nGo.
F’nGive is sponsored by Austin based companies ZEN, Richard’s Rainwater, EPIC Bars, Happy water, and Picnik Coffee.
